Custom Orthotics |
Custom orthotics are made to help improve mis-alignments in the foot, help posture, or relieve any pain in the foot, leg or back. Custom orthotics are different from inserts that can be bought at a store because they are specially made to fit the unique shape of an individual's foot. At Physio East we use two methods to make your orthotics. A cast is made by taking an impression of your feet, one at a time. Your bare foot is placed into the box, making the surface conform. After the foot is taken out of the box, the unique shape of your foot appears. The molds are sent to Footmaxx, who uses techniques that help stabilize the foot and correct any problems. We also use a specially designed computer mat. When you walk on this mat it senses the pressure points on your foot as well as your gait. Your completed custom orthotics are delivered within weeks. For more information, visit Footmaxx. **Orthotics at our Morell Location only** |

The vestibular system is responsible for providing an individual with information regarding balance and eye movements. The vestibular system may experience dysfunction due to bio-mechanics factors, viral/bacterial infections or trauma (whiplash, concussion). Symptoms that can be related to the vestibular system include vertigo (dizziness), feeling imbalanced and migraines. At your appointment we will conduct a vestibular assessment which includes a detailed history of symptoms as well as a physical assessment. The physical portion of a vestibular assessment is to determine specific positions or movements that provoke symptoms described by the individual. We will will identify problems with your neck motion, visual stability and your gait (how you walk). The number of treatments required will vary depending on the type of vestibular dysfunction. **Provided at Montague and Morell Clinics** |
